Product Details

A circular buckle of sturdy tin, aged and polished in the shape of a Celtic dragon swallowing his own tail, engraved with runes around his body. Suitable for a belt up to 38 mm wide.

Jormungandr, the name of the greatest ouroboros, the northern legend of the 'Midgard' or Serpent Mondial.

A child of the Nordic god Loki, Jormungandr, the 'Midgard' or the World Serpent is the largest ouroboros. Circling the ocean that surrounds the world; If the "huge monster" releases its own tail, the world will come to an end. The body of the snake is engraved with runes on the front of the reading "Jormungandr Miogarosormr", which translates as "Jormundgard the snake of the world".

In Nordic mythology, Jormungandr, also known as the Midgard Serpent or World Serpent, is a sea serpent, the average child of the giant Angrbooa and Loki. According to the Edda Prose, Odin took Loki's three children by Angrbooa - the wolf Fenrir, Hel and Jormungandr - and threw Jormungandr into the great ocean that surrounds Midgard. The snake became so big that it could surround the earth and grab its own tail and therefore received the name of Snake of the World.
